OS G LUBE (Fine & Regular Grade) - Synthetic Graphite based Lubricant
Lubricity
Drilling fluid lubricity is a key parameter in achieving high ROPs. Drilling fluid lubricity directly affects power transmission to the bit and BHA. Excessive torque and drag leads to slow ROPs, drill-string failures and expensive fishing jobs and side-tracks. Drilling fluid lubricity is especially important in directional wells in both cased and open hole. Graphite is the most widely applied dry lubricant in the drilling industry. Graphites have the added bonus of contributing to the control of fluid loss, seepage and wellbore strengthening.
Product Information
OS G LUBE is 100% synthetic, specially processed graphite with weak bonding between its layered structure. This leads to very low friction as the layers slide relative to each other. OS G LUBE is chemically inert and can be used in all types of drilling muds, it is completely unaffected by mud contaminants. OS G LUBE is produced in Fine and Regular grades. OS G LUBE is especially effective in directional drilling when metal-to-metal contact forces are high. The particle size distribution of both grades of OS G LUBE also aids in reducing fluid loss, seepage loss and wellbore strengthening.

Advantages
OS G LUBE offers low cost lubrication and loss control via an inert material which is compatible with all types of drilling fluids and is unaffected by any and all contaminants. OS G LUBE can be used at temperatures in excess of 400oF (205oC).
Application
OS G LUBE is used in concentrations of 2-8 ppb (0.75-3.0 kg/m3) for lubricity effects and can be used at higher concentrations in pills for seepage and wellbore strengthening purposes.
Packaging
OS G LUBE is packaged in 22.7 kg sacks.
