OS OXY SCAV D - Diethylhydroxylamine Based Liquid Oxygen Scavenger

Oxygen Scavengers

Most oxygen corrosion in oilfield metallurgy is caused by the addition of fluids from the surface that have been exposed to air for any length of time. When large quantities of fluids are pumped or injected downhole oxygen can be introduced in significant quantities. Dissolved oxygen downhole can cause severe corrosion problems.

Product Information

OS OXY SCAV D is a highly effective oxygen scavenger designed to remove dissolved oxygen from aerated water, preventing or slowing the corrosion of metals. It is suitable for use in both fresh and saltwater based systems.

OS OXY SCAV D further inhibits corrosion by creating a protective oxide film on ferrous-based metals.

Typical Physical Properties

Appearance:                      Clear / Yellow Liquid

S.G. @ 20oC:                        0.895 – 0.905 g/cm3

Flash Point:                           >45oC

Advantages

OS OXY SCAV D is highly effective.

OS OXY SCAV D is biodegradable and more environmentally friendly than other similar oxygen scavengers.

Application

It is important to apply OS OXY SCAV D after minimising the aeration of the fluid by mechanical means and as close to the point of suction as possible. Optimal dose rates will depend on actual conditions and should be determined by conducting tests in the field that compare dissolved oxygen levels before and after treatment of OS OXY SCAV D. Initial dose rate range of between 150ppm and 750ppm is recommended. OS OXY SCAV D can be used at higher concentrations if required.

Packaging

OS OXY SCAV D is packaged in 200 ltr drums.
