Detergency
Detergency is defined as the ability. of a detergent to lift solids and grease from a surface by displacing them with chemical surfactants which adhere more readily to the surface being cleaned. In water-based muds it is important to keep the bit and BHA as clean as possible to maximize the impact of the cutting structure and therefore maximize ROPs.

OS MUD DET is a proprietary blend of anionic and amphoteric surfactants.
OS MUD DET is used as a general purpose surface active material in drilling to reduce the balling of drill solids. A reduction in drill pipe torque can be expected as the bit and BHA become less obstructed with packed cuttings.

Advantages
Easy to mix directly into the active system. Effective in low concentrations. Especially formulated for fresh, salt and potassium chloride systems.
Application
The required dosage of OS MUD DET will depend on the severity of the problem. Start by adding the chemical at a rate of 0.25 gallons per barrel and increase if necessary.
OS MUD DET can be applied in all drilling mud systems and mostly in surface and intermediate drilling phases. In the presence of high concentration of calcium and magnesium ions the mud system should be pre-treated with Soda Ash in order to increase the efficiency of OS MUD DET.

OS MUD DET is packaged in 200 kg drums.
