Oxygen Scavengers are commonly added to drilling fluids and completion fluids to mitigate the adverse effects of dissolved oxygen in downhole environments. Dissolved oxygen can radically decompose polymeric additives in the drilling fluid and can corrode the metal casing and the drill pipe.

OS OXY SCAV SB is a sodium bisulphite based liquid oxygen scavenger designed to remove dissolved oxygen from aerated water. It is suitable for use in both fresh and salt water based systems.
OS OXY SCAV SB is water soluble and can be added to an active system directly. OS OXY SCAV SB performs well in systems experiencing high temperature conditions.

Advantages
OS OXY SCAV SB is used where there is an incompatibility in using OS OXY SCAV L due to ammonium Ions in the drilling fluid.
Application
OS OXY SCAV SB should be added to the system at a rate of 200-250ppm depending on conditions.
