Effective wellbore strengthening requires that an adequate concentration of properly sized and shaped particles of sufficient physical strength are present in a mud as fractures are induced. The LPM can then pack the initial fracture and prevent further propagation and whole mud losses. The packed fracture then increases the hoop stress of the near wellbore and increases the apparent rock strength. OS G PLUG LPM COARSE is an ideal material for effective loss prevention.

OS G PLUG LPM COARSE is a specific sized processed graphite that is designed especially for use in drilling muds. The specific size distribution is critical in optimising effective wellbore strengthening. OS G PLUG LPM COARSE is chemically inert and it is temperature stable to greater than 250oC. Additions of OS G PLUG LPM COARSE will also reduce torque and drag and reduce the instance of differential sticking. OS G PLUG LPM COARSE is REACH compliant and is a PLONOR product. OS G PLUG LPM COARSE is E.U. origin.

Application
OS G PLUG LPM COARSE may be used on its own in a circulating system or in combination with sized CaCO3 at concentrations up to 40 ppb (110 kg/m3). The product can also be applied in sweeps or by spotting pills.
